Auspicious Harmony

May 14, 2008 by Margret Short

A few years ago, I painted several pieces using the ever beautiful calla lilies as a focal point. Here I have mimicked one of the earlier compositions while changing a few objects and brightening the red tones. Using a white or off white object as the main attraction is very auspicious in color palette planning. Because white goes with anything, … [Read more...] about Auspicious Harmony

March 30, 2008 by Margret Short

Shown here is the first painting completed in my new studio. After so many months of not painting, it is splendid to be back to work, specifically experimenting with the natural pigments again. Initially, I felt very rusty but after just a little while it all seems familiar again. I had to review my drying charts from last year to see which … [Read more...] about Vagone Green

After signing the final papers in December, several weeks went by while various crews installed hardwood floors, … [Read more...] about New Digs

Fast Forward

December 30, 2007 by Margret Short

Hood Community College. My Mom, Esther, found a copy of Jeanette's article in her attic, and gave it to me the other day. It is a very timely topic because I … [Read more...] about Fast Forward
