Dancing Backwards Part lll Comes to an End

A great big thank you goes out to all at Bronze Coast Gallery for a marvelous weekend. Krissy, Joe, and Becca were gracious hosts to Holly and I all throughout the events celebrating eight more forgotten women artists of the past. At the Saturday afternoon reception, many guests mingled and enjoyed a variety of decadent truffles from a local chocolatier. It is always a pleasure to see familiar faces and greet new ones while chatting about painting, artists, techniques, pigments, and future projects.

As a re-cap, the lives of all eight featured women artists have been covered in depth over the summer months, and the stories can be found here on this blog. As you can see, each painting has a music related title. One piece from each artist was chosen as a source painting. After the choices were made, I developed a new painting in my style and subject matter while echoing the palette from the selected pieces. Each one held a new set of challenges while attempting to stay within the parameters of each individual color theme. All are now on display at the gallery along with the image of the source painting. As an aside, all 17 paintings from Parts l and ll long ago found a new home. So, as promised, enjoy all eight from Part lll now in totality along with the image of each source painting.
